THIS IS AWESOME!!!
I could only play a few minutes of the demo as I am going to a friend's place and getting pissed! But man, this game is awesome. I was playing it and my mum was watching and we both jumped in a few scenes.lol. I wish I had surround sound! Cannot wait for this game!!!

I love it! It's simply a polished up version of the first game, which is great. It's fluid, and looks and sounds awesome.

I'm playing through the original Dead Space tonight (figured I need to start finishing all these bloody games I got in the cupboard) before the 2nd one is released.
Surround sound is like 1080p to you ears guys, I can't recommend it enough to anyone who hasn't got it yet.... Just GET IT! Lol.
I keep looking back in game as I play dead space coz I keep hearin noises all around me, damn scary shit is awesome. One of me favourite games

I almost agree with you Az. Surrond sounds is the bomb. Especially a game like Dead Space! It will scare the shit out of you!
I am going to be saving for my own sound system and hopefully get a good one by the end of 2011.

Re: dead space 2
Not a biggy, but if you have a save file on your PS3 of Dead Space 1, then you will unlock the original plasma cutter from DS1. Cool idea, but it won't help heaps as it doesn't come with the upgrades. The plasma cutter was my fav. weapon in DS1.

You will be helping me find a good system mate!!!

Trophy list - http://www.ps3trophies.org/game/dead-space-2/trophies/
All single player related, but a few will be tough. Good list.

Re: dead space 2
I've played 5 minutes and already died. I regret starting on Zealot difficulty.
I think im going to have to start again on Normal or something.
Also, Hardcore mode is a fucking joke. Plat will be impossible. 3 saves for the entire game, ammo is super rare, and you die in one hit. When you die, rather than going back to a checkpoint, you go back to your last save (only 3 of them for the entire game!!!!!)

I'm loving this. I'm only on chapter 5 though. It's almost exactly the same as the first game which is a good thing. No need to change what works so well.

Yeah I just started playing this baby and am really enjoying it!
Has anyone seen the Dead Space anime films Downfall and Aftermath? They deal with the background storyline, apparently downfall is pretty shit, but aftermath is ok. I was thinking of downloading them.

Ha ha I finished this game on hard core mode and as a reward you get a large sports foam hand that destroys everything when fired and you make gun noises while doing it (pew pew/ bang bang)

Congrats on the Plat. I haven't even finished my first playthrough yet.fuchswagen wrote:Ha ha I finished this game on hard core mode and as a reward you get a large sports foam hand that destroys everything when fired and you make gun noises while doing it (pew pew/ bang bang)
Which guns did you use for your hardcore run? I'm thinking ill go with the plasma cutter, force gun, detonator and contact beam.

Re: dead space 2
@ mcrowley Yes loved the game even when i died so many times at hard core mode from stupid mistakes. Reminded me of demons souls difficulty.
@ gunn. I used the plasma cutter, ripper, detonator and contact beam for big enemies and the boss. Allot of people are using your combo of weapons but I find the ripper very usefull for knock back effect to rushing slashers and pukers.
Also I saved at chapter 8, end of 11 and end of 13.

Re: dead space 2
The force gun is amazing. You simply need to shoot, without even aiming, to push back all enemies most likely killing them.
Well, it will be a while yet til I attempt hardcore anyway. I'm going to finish my first playthrough (im at the end of ch.14), then go through half the game or so getting the remainder of the trophies, then ill do a Zealot run with everything upgraded, and then finally my hard core run if im feeling up to it.

Little cheat. If you have some stasis in your inventory, when your out of it go to it in your inventory and hold x button while you press select. It shouldnt actually use up the stasis, while it does replenish the stasis in your rig.

Finished it! Great game! I thought the end "boss" was crap, but I really enjoyed the game. Very polished and quite scary at times. Looking forward to the 3rd one!

Hey Fuchs
I see you have been playing Extraction. Is it any good? Worth playing? Did you use move for it?

Nope, dont have move. Just used a 6-axis. Nothing special as a shooter, but filled in some of the story. Not scary at all. and really easy.
