Title says it all.

Over the weekend I watched the fighter and Rabbit hole

The fighter was good, but not as great as I thought it would be. Christian bale did some great acting, but it just isn't a great boxing film.

Rabbit hole was also good. Some good acting by Kidman and Eckhart and an overall decent drama, but you have to be in the mood for it.

Agreed, Fighter was good as a drama, not the best boxing movie..

Rabbit Hole was just weird..I am a big Eckhart fan, still Kidman ruins it for me

Watched "Let me in". Its an American remake of "let the right one in", a Swedish Vampire/horror film. They aren't joking when they say remake as a lot of the scenes and even dialogue is copied from the original. That is a shame as the movie doesn't stand out on its own. I highly recommend watching the original one and give this one a miss (unless you hate subtitles that is, then watch the remake).

I watched Thor today.

I enjoyed it. The visuals are impressive as is the sound effects and I thought that the Aussie from home and Away did a good job as Thor. Always good to have Anthony Hopkins as well. The only thing that really let it down was the plot as the antagonist's reasons for betrayal were pretty average and the real enemies of the Asgard could have been a real force to be reckoned with, but they fizzled out. Good film to watch with the GF as well. I would look forward to a sequel.

In the previews there was one for Captain America and that looks pretty good. I know I have bagged out X-men first class, but the trailer actually looked decent as well. (A lot of Marvel films this year!)

I'm gonna watch The Fighter tonight. Go it yesterday.

I recently watched all seven Saw movies in order. Fantastic. To anyone who thinks these are just horror/sick movies, you could not be more wrong. One of the best stories ive experienced and the plot twists are top notch. Awesome series. I highly recommend them.


Also I saw Paul the other week. Disappointed with it. Not nearly as good as other Simon Pegg/Nick Frost movies such as Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz etc. Paul was just another Seth Rogan pot comedy. Not bad, but not as good as it should've been.
Jason Bateman was great in it though.

I've never seen a SAW movie cos it just looks like a gorey flick. Might have to go see the first one now. lol

Just saw Thor. The graphics were amazing but I was disappointed for the same reasons crowley. Plot was a bit boring and the enemies were a real let down. Natalie Portman, looking good as always.
Saw previews for Super 8. Looks bloody brilliant. Jake Gyllanhauls (can't spell, lol) new movie looks amazing.

The Fighter - 7/10
It's basically just a 2 hour family feud, with some cliched boxing bits thrown in. The story was predictable.
That said though, all of it was done really well. I'm not really a fan of Christian Bale but he was superb in it. Marky Mark was good too.

Saw Transformers 3.

I fucking hated it! I thought Trans. 2 was bad, this is worse. It goes for too long and the human side of things (stupid romance and secret government agencies) are terrible viewing. The jokes aren't funny. They don't focus much on the transformers and when they do its just action sequences so you get over it ( like you get over the action sequences in Matrix 2). The story is shocking, there is no real defined bad guy. Shockwave is in it and they don't introduce him and megatron seems like an afterthought. Finally, apparently there are 9 autobots left on the planet and they take out all the decepticons (there are hundreds of them).

I am very disappointed in this series considering the first movie was pretty good and showed promise.

Soundwave was my fave in the cartoons, he was just chill and get my mix tapes to do all the work haha

Yeah Cap, but Bay did a decent job of the first one and then fucked up the last two. He has some ok movies, but has dropped the ball on the last few.

Tristo, Soundwave was voiced by Frank Welker (Shockwave too) and he was the original voice of Megatron in the G1 cartoon!

I wish I read these posts before seeing T3. It was better than T2 but in the end you cant make a pile of steaming shit taste better with a bit of icing sugar on the top. I hope they leave the franchise alone now.

I kind of agree with you though crowley. I enjoyed it but it did get boring at times. I found that it started off really boring, I was waiting for the action but that didn't start until the second half, *sigh*

I agree that it was fucking terrible. The humans were an absolute joke, those two little "funny" robots were a disgrace and the plot had so many fucking holes in it that it was laughable.

Shai Laboooooofe is more of a cockhead in this film than the others, and the movie falls into every fucking cliche it's embarrassing.

The bird who replaced Megan Fox had an amazing body though, but a face like a smashed crab.


Fuck Michael Bay and Transformers. Where are the days of good movies with great dialogue that were well directed?! FUCKING GONE, AND REPLACED BY PC EFFECTS.

Gone are the days where ONE camera filmed a whole 15 minute scene of witty dialogue, letting the actors actually ACT. Remember Goodfellas people? Brilliant. Inglorious Basterds is the only recent movie that respects true FILM.
