HD Capture Device...

Alternative to the Hauppauge HDPVR...
For Waaaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper...

After reading around it ONLY records up to 480p via Component, but the passthrough can display 720p or 1080i etc depending on what you choose on the PS3...

In a way I reckon this is a good idea, and wished the HDPVR had this function to (To record to 480p) because 720p and 1080i takes alot more HDD space and also needs a better Machine... You can easily Convert to 720p when you do your final edit and upload to youtube anyways

Did you seriously just buy a Hauppauge HDPVR just for normal TV? Woah thats quite expensive just for that bro lol

It is an Olin HD PVR from Office Works, haha.

Soooo i just bought one of these for $80/85 (Using online Discounts ) (Compaired to the HDPVR $250-$300)NZ$ brand new from ROXIO. So be even cheaper for the AU.

Brings back memories when I had a HDPVR, playing with Component Cables over HDMI... (HDMI owns)
Comes with Software to capture and edit,

The capture software works smooth and easy to use.
the only downside is recording in 480p.

But after a little Sony Vegas touch up, can render to 720 for youtube... Will do a few test uploads sometime...

Files end up a little smaller then the HDPVR. But thats using the Capture formats from ROXIO. (You can use other formats and settings with Virtual DUB

For the price, I definitely cant complain.

* Roxio runs via USB (No Power adapter needed like the HDPVR)
* Is way smaller then the HDPVR
* You DO NOT need to have the Roxio powered, to play on the TV (Even if the Roxio card is not connected to the PC, you can still play on the TV

Only Captures to 480p
Only has Component inputs, HDPVR has AV as well (Which was hella buggy though lol)

If you want to record gameplay's while playing in HD 720-1080. This is a good product for the price.

Lol as much as this product is good, I ended up with a HAUPPAUGE HDPVR for $109 NZ shipped (Was the last 1 in stock and I couldnt say no . Off goes the Roxio

So the speed was kinda slow, and you have to download 1 part at a time lol...

But with the new copyright law that hit NZ, Im staying away from Torrents ATM
